Did you know...
Fragrances affect our life much more than we are aware of. Among all of our senses, scent is the most powerful trigger of emotion and memory. Losing a parent at a very young age, doesn’t leave you with a lot of memories to reflect on. I can always remember the smell of my dad! Even in my adult years, if I catch a waft of his scent from someone simply walking by, I develop a smile that is unmatched in width because in that moment, I can recall the last time that I hugged him and the happiness that I felt.
My memory of my father is what inspired me to begin creating fragrances. I was trying to find “that” scent that triggered the specific emotion of happiness. However, I was not successful! I didn’t stop because what I did create was something absolutely amazing and I knew that I wanted to share it with others. “Close Proximity” is our very first and signature scent that was created by Devine intervention!
Then we had the narrative shift and began focusing on other scents that were unique! I know I don’t like my house smelling like cakes, pies and Christmas Trees so back into the lab we went! We started with Room Sprays and moved into Candle Making, now here we are!
Emotions Make Scents uses a FDA Approved, Vegan, gluten, toxin, paraben, and phthalate free soy wax blend for our candles. Room Sprays may be harmful if swallowed and can cause serious eye irritations. Please don't use as a cologne or perfume, although you may be tempted.
Each product has been carefully hand measured, mixed and poured in Southern Maryland.
